Job Description:

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance for an entrepreneurial leader to take the reins of an established small government contracting business and run it as your own. The company is a cornerstone of a new platform built by an emerging private equity group focused on dual-use services that serve both defense and commercial markets.

You are stepping into an ownership seat with real equity, a clear mandate, and the backing of veterans who intend to build something far larger than a single business. If you have ever wanted to operate like a founder without starting from zero, this is that opportunity.

The Mandate

Your charter is simple to state and demanding to execute: grow EBITDA by 30% over the next three years. You will own the P&L, set the strategy, and execute with limited resources.

What You Will Own

  • Full P&L responsibility. Own the operating company from top-line revenue through margin.
  • Business development and capture. Leverage your network from day one to open doors, win new work, and expand existing contracts.
  • Operations and delivery. Drive contract performance, quality, and execution across the book of work.
  • Talent and team building. Recruit and lead people who want to win.
  • Customer and partner relationships. Deepen trust with government and commercial buyers and teaming partners.
  • Inorganic growth. Partner with platform leadership on add-on acquisitions and integration.

Who You Are

  • Military veteran. You understand mission, accountability, and leading from the front.
  • Government contracting operator. You know how the work is won and delivered: contract vehicles, capture, compliance, and customer intimacy.
  • Connected on day one. You bring a robust, active network you can put to work immediately, not one you have to go build.
  • Entrepreneurial. You are comfortable with ambiguity, biased toward action, and motivated by ownership and upside rather than a title. You're driven and able to do more with less, and leverage leadership, networks, and grit to build something great. You want to grow something real and share in the value you create.

Qualifications

  • Proven P&L, general management, or business development leadership in government services or the defense industry.
  • A demonstrated track record of growing revenue and profitability.
  • Deep, current relationships across government and commercial customers and teaming partners.
  • U.S. military service. An active or prior security clearance is a strong plus depending on the customer base.
  • Willingness to work on a hybrid schedule and travel as the business requires.

Compensation and Upside

  • Base salary of $120,000.
  • Equity ownership with laddered earn-in, a direct stake in the value you create.
  • Platform-level upside. As the portfolio grows through additional acquisitions, so does the opportunity for the leaders who help build it.

The Bigger Picture

The right person sees this for what it is: a platform play, not a job. You get the autonomy of running your own company and the leverage of an investor group building a portfolio of dual-use businesses. For an entrepreneurial veteran ready to bet on themselves, the ceiling is high.

Veterans and transitioning service members are strongly encouraged to apply. All inquiries will be held in strict confidence.
